Step Carpet

Step Carpet

6 People have errors when choosing a carpet cleaner!

MYTH # 1: You should wait as long as possible before cleaning your carpet.

No. Dirt is an abrasive – like sandpaper. Every time I step on the carpet, you grind dirt into the fibers of your carpet. This reduces your carpet, as if had used a knife, causing it to wear out faster. A dirty carpet will not last nearly as long as a clean carpet. And while vacuuming helps – by itself is simply not enough. Then they wait to have your carpet cleaned, the more damage it can do for your carpet and the faster it takes out.

Misconception # 2: The only reason to clean carpets is to get out of the dirt.

No. As you probably know, outdoor air contains pollens, fungi, bacteria, air pollution, cigarette smoke, car exhaust – and hundreds of other chemicals. When you and your family enter your home, carry pollen, bacteria and chemicals in your hair and skin, clothing and shoes. Not surprisingly, all these products chemicals, pollen and bacteria close – you guessed it – in your carpet.

If you have allergies, asthma, emphysema or other respiratory problems – a major source of your problem may be the pollen, fungus and chemicals in your carpet.

Moreover, as you know, snuff smoke contains over 4,000 chemical compounds different, of which 43 cause cancer. And even if you do not smoke, those chemicals get into your shoes, which keep track of your home and leave them in your carpet.

If you're sensitive to cigarette smoke, may find that you will breathe easier after you hire a company to get out hazardous chemicals your carpet.

So, besides getting rid of dirt, another important reason to clean your carpet is to get rid of pollens, fungi, bacteria, chemicals and the tars and smoke residue snuff.

Misconceptions # 3: A carpet cleaning method is so good as another.

No. You can choose between two primary methods: Dry cleaning or hot water extraction.

First, I explain cleaning dry. Many people believe that dry cleaning your carpet is like dry cleaning your clothes. This is not true. All carpet cleaning methods use water in one or the other. These are the three methods of dry cleaning carpet.

When a carpet cleaner uses dry foam, apply the shampoo to the carpet, let it dry, and then sucks the dry shampoo in a vacuum. Can you imagine applying shampoo to your hair, allowing it to dry and then removing the shampoo from your head with a vacuum cleaner? This method can leave a residue on your carpet, which is one reason dry foam is not very effective.

The dry-chemical method is similar to the foam dry. The main difference is that when dry-chemical is used, the company sets a large cotton bonnet on your carpet. Using a machine, the hood tour side to side, absorbing the dirt that is on the carpet. After the bonnet is saturated with dirt, another cotton bonnet is applied. Bonnet cleaning is like try to use a large towel to rub the dirt from your carpet. Like dry foam, its high efficiency.

The dry method extends a mixture of absorbing compounds that looks like wet sawdust all over the carpeting. Then the machine brushes the mixture into the carpet, which in theory causes dirt to absorb into the mixture. When the mixture has dried, a vacuum cleaner sucks the material out of the carpet. Because the carpet is not clarified in any way, this method is not very effective.

The carpet cleaning method second is called hot water extraction. This is a fancy way of saying that a cleaning solution under high pressure hot water is forced into the carpet and then vacuuming the carpet. This method is also known as steam cleaning even though steam is not used.

Shaw Industries, the world's largest manufacturer of carpets, recommends hot water extraction and you can choose between two different types: Portable extraction, which is done with a machine small. Or truck mount extraction which means the large cleaning machine mounted on a truck or van.

Not surprisingly, the truck clean extraction assembly much better, because it heats the water to a higher temperature – and shoots the cleaning solution on the carpet at higher pressure – which the earth ruptures, bacteria and pollen. Then the machine uses high suction to draw dirt from the carpet. This is the method my company uses.

Without doubt, the most effective way to clean carpets is a hot water unit mounted on a truck. It is the most powerful cleaning machine on the market and the only machine that thoroughly cleans your carpet of dirt, harmful bacteria, fungi, pollens and chemicals residues snuff.

The methods used cold and even warm water remove dirt – but are not as effective as hot water truck mount method.

Some people believe that damage hot water from your carpet, but this is not true. Per wash and rinse the carpet with hot water, clean your carpet completely – in the same way that the person who showers and then rinsed off the dirt and soap will be much cleaner than the person who takes only a sponge bath.

MYTH # 4: Have proper equipment is a need to clean your carpets properly.

Not true. Many cleaning companies own hot water – but a large number of employees do not know how to use them. You probably know someone who bought the latest equipment on the market – but did not learn how to use it for a year or more. The same is true with carpet cleaning machines. The company may have a good team, but the employees do not know how to use it properly. It is therefore important that choose the carpet cleaner carefully.

The best carpet cleaning companies are those that have been certified by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification, known as the IICRC. A carpet cleaning company can not buy this certification. The carpet cleaner must be certified through study, experience and the success of formal examinations, in writing. Cleaning products that are certified by the IICRC, in effect, earned a degree in carpet cleaning.

The IICRC provides written credentials to the companies it certifies. So before you choose a carpet cleaner, ask to see written proof the company's IICRC certification.

MYTH # 5: The company offering the lowest price is the company to hire.

Such time – but not always. Here are two important points to consider.

Point # 1: The price you see offered may not be for the services you want perform. Before selecting a company, decide what you want to achieve. If you want the carpet cleaner to remove only part of the earth, you can choose from hundreds of companies using small lava or other cleaning methods. Or, you can even rent a machine at the supermarket and the job yourself.

On the other hand, if you want your carpet thoroughly cleaned – if you want to remove the harmful dirt, bacteria, pollen, chemicals and waste of snuff – then you need to hire a company using a hot water cleaner mounted on a truck. This is the only way to ensure that your carpet remains healthy and free of dirt, bacteria that cause diseases and harmful chemicals.

So remember that the price you see offered may not be for the services you want performed.

Point # 2: The price you see advertised may not be the price you pay.

Many homeowners have learned that the low price that was advertised was not the amount they were charged.

And if you have ever hired a carpet cleaner, you too may have been the victim of false or misleading advertising. You probably learned the hard way that some carpet cleaners offer a cheap price – usually between $ 3.95 and $ 9.95 room – and then the pressure for pay a lot more once they get inside your home. Some of them may even break the law by using illegal bait and switch tactics.

As in all businesses and professions, industry carpet cleaning has its share of bad apples. I hate to say this, but some are unethical – and, unfortunately, a few are dishonest. For its misleading advertising and false promises, they cast a dark shadow on our entire industry.

Here are other carpet cleaners – professionals like me who work hard to earn your trust and respect.

As a way of improving our profession, I have dedicated my business to educate the public. The only way to make an intelligent decision is to have all the facts you need. This is why he has recorded this message. And help promote my efforts at consumer education, which became the Director of Arizona and the Institute carpet manufactures.

Misconception # 6: The honest carpet cleaning company should be able to give an exact quote over the phone.

I wish this were true, but it is not. Consumers often think that if you want to clean four rooms and the price is $ 6 per room, then the price will be $ 24. But this is not always true.

First, the carpet honest, reputable cleaning companies usually price carpet cleaning per square foot. So if I would tell you the exact cost cleaning your carpet, I need to know the exact number of square feet you want cleaned. To get an accurate measure, I have a measuring wheel to use in calculating the exact size of the area of the carpet.

You'll be glad to know that the area of carpet cleaning is not as big as most people think. For example, if you want your whole house and clean your house is 2000 square meters, the amount of carpet to be cleaned might be only 1200 square meters. This is because most home measurements are outdoor measurements. In addition to deducting the area occupied by walls, partitions, etc.. The result is that the actual area to be cleaned is at Overall only 60% of the square footage of the house.

So, although I can not give an exact quote over the phone, here are things to consider when quoted a price.

First, the type of carpet. Certain types of carpet are harder to clean than others. So before I can give you a appointment, I have to know the type of carpet you want cleaned.

Second, the amount of dirt. Carpet that has not been cleaned for ten years will take longer time to clean than carpet that was cleaned in the past six months.

Third, the amount of furniture that has to be moved. If we have to move furniture, the offer must include the job. But if you move your furniture, you'll save money.

In summary, I believe that the type of carpet, the amount of dirt, and the amount of furniture that has to be moved. Then, as now you can imagine, every quotation is different.
