Cat’s using a strange scratching surface, can’t find anything else she likes?

I have hardwood floors, and they aren’t the worlds best (I rent) and my little cat (she is about 1 yr 3 mo old, spayed, healthy, happy, not declawed) likes to scratch on the floor and on these little wood squares that are nailed into the floor. She has a cat tree with sisal post that she just likes to play on, a hanging pad, a cardboard pad that sits on the floor, and another smaller post, and uses none of them. What do you think for her to be good to scratch on? I am out of ideas but I don’t want the floor scratched up. Thanks!!

Can you bring inside a big ol’ cut log? Sounds weird but my cats adore scratching on rough bark logs. I have one inside for them. The bark makes a mess but they love their scratching logs better than the couch, so I am willing to put up with a mess.
