Red Leafy
In a greens smoothie/juice drink, how can you avoid red fruits & green leafy veggies making an awful mud color?
I excitedly made my first “greenies” blender drink, and it was great: lovely color and nice taste (pineapple, spinach, avocado). Then I tried my second: Romaine lettuce, banana, and raspberries. It was awful: had a bitter taste, and a unappetizing muddy color. I was later told that red and green are always going to make an unappealing color. How do you get around that…for example, would adding beets help?
Any suggestions on making these drinks more eye-appealing appreciated. (Also appreciate any tips on getting past the bitterness!)
I don’t think you can avoid it totally unless using artificialal colouring.
You could lower how many you put in, to make a less muddy colour.
