How to sew velcro on the back of a Persian rug?
It's like a Persian rug (much less expensive – a rug for our style rustic shelter home that is perfect as a wallhanging, but we want to move the rug as a tapestry with velcro against a velcro seal, clips (as they do in museums). The problem is that the tissue is virtually impenetrable so I'm breaking needles, frayed wire, creating calluses, dying a slow death 
This is going to take me side always. You must be a better way to do it by hand. Or am I just using the wrong team? I'm using curved upholstery needles, thimbles, thread, trim (The thread often worn or out of its knot!), Pliers (from the intense push the needle through the screen as carpet backing. Please help! Just need to sew a strip of two inches which is about 6 feet long, but I spent half a day of sewing 3 inches!
Instead of sewing the velcro, the use a stapler, with the flat side of the clip on the back of the carpet. Bent tips are hidden in the nap of the fabric in the front. If you have to sew, use a needle Upholstered very thick, or one for counted cross stitch. The needle is very heavy and has a wide view. Use a small piece of rubbery plastic to hold the needle as passing through the pad and carpet. Floss quilting or buttonhole twist, doubled and run through a piece of candle or beeswax.
