Can I put Isle runner on the sand, and leave our shoes on for the Ceremony?

I bought an isle runner because I thought we were going to do the ceremony on a grassy area. Now we’re doing it on the beach. Should I still put the runner down on top of the sand, and then put flowers on it, or is it too much? Do you think we should wear our shoes on top of the isle runner while walking on the sand? I’m pretty short, and like the idea of the extra 4 inches, and the shoes complete all the outfits.

honestly, you probably won’t be able to wear 4″ heals on a beach with or without a runner. You would have to commission a solid platform to walk on. If you wear flats, you could get away with the runner – it would keep the sand out of your feet and designate your isle area. Heels would puncture through, and if you wore the heels on the sand you would just sink, and possibly trip! If your dress is already hemmed for heels, you could always wear platform-type sandals (they wouldn’t be seen under the dress anyway) – you would get some height for the isle, then can change into your nice heels for the reception!
