how do you take the fur off of a pelt to make leather? i looked everywere and i cant find nothin?

Animal Leather

Stretch the freshly removed skin (hair side down) across a couple of sawhorses.
Step2Use a sharp knife to scrape off any meat or fat. Scrape down to the skin.
Step3Lay the skin (hair side down) on a flat board, and tack the edges. Cover the skin with a minimum of 5 lbs. of un-iodized salt. Do not skimp, and make sure the entire hide is covered. The salt will draw moisture out of the skin. Add additional salt in areas where moisture is pooling. Allow salt to draw out the moisture for 5 days or until skin begins to feel dry and slightly brittle.
Step4Remove the skin from the board. Rinse the salt off the skin with running water. Fill a plastic trash barrel with clear water and soak the skin for four hours.
Step5Boil the bran flakes in 3 gallons of water, and allow the water to cool. Once cool, strain out the bran flakes, and save the brownish water.
Step6Boil 4 gallons of water, and pour it into an empty plastic trash can. Add 16 cups of un-iodized salt, and stir until the salt is dissolved. Add in the brown bran-water.
Step7Add the 3 1/2 cups of battery acid. Wear gloves and eye protection when adding acid. Tip trash can slightly, and pour acid down the inside of the barrel so that it does not splash. Stir with your long stick.
Step8Place your deer skin into this mixture. Use your stirring stick to press the hide into the solution, making certain the entire hide is covered. Allow to soak for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step9Fill the other trash barrel with lukewarm water. Using sticks, remove the pelt from the battery acid solution, and place into the clear water. Stir. Dump the water and replace as often as necessary until the water remains clear. Once the skin is clean, add 2 boxes of baking soda to neutralize any remaining acid. Allow to soak for 10 minutes.
Step10Remove the skin from the rinse water, and stretch it over your board, taking down its edges once again. Spray with hose to wash off baking soda. Use cloth towels to pat dry.
Step11Rub in neat’s-foot oil. Allow the oil to soak into the skin, and then rub off any excess. Allow the skin to dry in the shade for at least 24 hours. Your skin is now tanned.
