In regards to how the area rug is made, there are basically two different options. One option is your typical mechanically produced area rugs. If you’re strapped for cash then they are usually the least expensive way to go because manufacturers can make them quickly and therefore sell more of them for less. The next choice you have is the handmade rugs. These are just as they sound; 9×12 area rugs produced entirely by hand. The quality is usually top of the line since a great deal of attention is given to detail. They tend to be priced much higher though, because hours of painstaking labor went into the creation of each individual area rug.
The last thing I’ll talk about is the material of the rug. Machine woven 9×12 area rugs are usually made of 100% propolene. That same material is used in other products like rope and thermal underwear, as well as many more things. Hand made area rugs are usually made of wool. Yet another popular option are shag area rugs made in the style of the commonly used shag rugs.
There are so many 9×12 area rugs out there on the market it can be a little overwhelming to even get started. The best way to start is to take into great consideration, where and how it will be utilized. Then just pick the one you think looks the best.
