Plush carpet dying hot pink black?

My sister got me a small area of hot pink carpet in my room for Christmas. I want to dye black. Would it be possible to use fabric dye to make this? If something I used as Rit dye, the black stain of the washer? Thanks to all who help XP

just the right stain if the carpet is a natural fibers such as cotton or wool … if this is a man-made fiber, is plastic and probably will not dye as well …. If dye does not get it wet on the floor or the dye may transfer to the ground … big mess …. there something that sets the dye, and it would be a good thing to use in a rug …. http://www.pburch.net/dyeing/FAQ/settingdye.shtml
