I wanted to put together a black, red and white/beige living room. Can I make this work?

I have a black couch, a black coffee table AND a small black papasan-like chair with silver legs (kinda retro-style). I was hoping to get a red shag rug and matching throw pillows for the couch. What about red drapes? Is that too much red? What can I make beige/white? I’m not really going for any style in particular. I was just hoping to use those colors, working with the furniture I already have. Help!

That sounds great, to use the beige why not red and beige throw pillows for the couch or just beige/white carpet instead of red since you are going to be using red drapes (which sounds a little too red). Be creative! On your black coffee table put white and red frames or candles that are red and white it will look great!
